A: Hardseededness is mechanism of seed dormancy that allows the formation of seedbank to allow for regeneration after one or more poor seed production seasons. Hardseed does not germinate the first time that germination conditions occur. It can remain dormant for one or more growing seasons. The Hardseed is common in legumes like clovers and medics but not in grasses or grains.

A: Inoculum is rhizobia bacteria that you would add to legume seed (clovers, medics, vetch, peas, bell beans, etc.) in order to increase nitrogen fixation and growth of the legume. Seed can be coated with inoculum or inculum can be added when the seed is bagged or you can mix it in the planter when you plant.
