Colenso Red Clover (Trifolium pratense):

Colenso red clover is a dense tillering, fine stemmed, early flowering, high quality and productive diploid broad cultivar of medium to low Oestrogen levels, suitable for Dairy and Beef cattle, Sheep and Deer.  Colenso has a long standing reputation as the ideal red clover for inclusion in short term and perennial pastures.  It is recommended for both pasture and Hay/silage production.  Colenso is an early flowing red clover with good persistence in dry conditions and good summer production.  Colenso will provide valuable feed earlier in Spring and later in Fall than many other cultivars.  Colenso can persist in moist fertile soils beyond three years in managed pasture situations, due to it's improved tolerance of close grazing and adverse climatic conditions. 

Colenso was selected with good resistance to diseases such as leaf and stem viruses, rusts and sclerotinia plus it has medium-low oestrogen levels which will reduce concerns about animal reproductive performance.

Colenso comes coated with inoculum 

Plant at 4 pounds per acre in pasture mixes and 8-10 per acre for a single stand hay crop.
