Kara Orchardgrass
Kara is a fast establishing, drought tolerant perennial plant. It was specifically bred for grazing purposes. It establishes well in spring, summer and fall provided that soil and climate conditions are favorable. It is recommended that 15 to 20 pounds per acre be planted. Kara is also ideal to be included in perennial ryegrass mixes. It has a high level of persistency and productivity when rotationally grazed. Kara provides rapid establishment, faster recovery from grazings and higher digestibility when compared to other orchardgrass cultivars.
